    First, Mercedes-Benz chose Atlanta over the Triangle for its corporate headquarters. Next, Chiquita, less than four years after a splashy move to Charlotte from Cincinnati, disclosed plans to leave within 12 to 18 months, taking 320 jobs out of the city.

  • Etix founder takes over Raleigh's Hopscotch Music Festival

    The Hopscotch Music Festival has a new face at the helm.

    Greg Lowenhagen, festival founder, confirms the Hopscotch festival has been taken over by Travis Janovich, founder of Etix, which has been the event’s ticket provider since its 2010 debut.

    Lowenhagen wouldn’t reveal the finances behind the deal, but did say the transaction “provides Hopscotch with the stability and longer-term direction I’ve been seeking for the business for years.”
