  • Uber, Etix partner to give you free rides to concerts

Morrisville-based ticket tech Etix is teaming up with Uber – a ride-share app that is quickly expanding in North Carolina – to provide event-goers free rides.

I chatted with both CEO Joe Kustelski and Brian Bauer, director at Rockhouse Partners, Etix’s digital marketing agency, who say it’s about taking advantage of disruptive technology to improve the user experience.

“We knew that being able to offer for venues that added value experience, the ticket buyers would boost sales for them,”…

  • Yoplait axes aspartame from its low-cal lines, brings in sucralose, stevia

General Mills Inc. is changing up the recipe for its low-calorie Yoplait yogurts by dropping aspartame — an artificial sweetener that’s been dogged by critics over possible health effects. What will replace aspartame depends on where you buy your Yoplait.

    “Because of their…

Templeton, who announced an impending retirement late last year, has now decided to remain in his current role.

That’s according to a statement from the software company today.

According to Citrix Chairman Thomas Bogan, the board has been working with outside investors since January to find Templeton’s…

  • Former state superior court judge joins Morningstar law firm

Former state superior court Judge Shannon Joseph has joined the Morningstar Law Group in an effort to expand the firm’s litigation practice.

Joseph, who has previously served also as a North Carolina administration law judge, had been appointed to the superior court bench in January 2009 by then-Gov. Mike Easley. Her five-year term expired Jan. 8.

Prior to her time on the bench, Joseph was in private practice for more than a decade as a civil litigator with the Smith Moore law firm of Raleigh.
